Originally born in Canada but raised in Houston, Ryan will always consider Texas home. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science from Texas A&M University and spent over ten years in pharmaceutical sales prior to making a career change to help his wife, Dr. Young, manage and operate TSO Woodlands. During his pharmaceutical career, Ryan consulted and successfully represented products in therapeutic areas such as gastroenterology, rheumatology, and hepatitis. He especially enjoyed his time as the district trainer and in specialty sales. He is a certified optician by the American Board of Opticianry and an Academy Fellow Member of the National Academy of Opticianry. Ryan strongly believes in continuing education courses for both staff and himself to stay on top of the exciting changes in the industry.
“Our wonderful, friendly staff combined with the clinical expertise of Dr. Young and our associate doctors helps our practice make every patient experience as positive as possible.” One of Ryan’s favorite aspects in the office includes working with first time progressive patients who often are frustrated and anxious to find the best solution to their visual needs. Also, Ryan has special interests in rimless eyewear, high definition digital lenses, prescription sunglasses, and safety/industrial frames. “I feel very fortunate to live and work in The Woodlands and help our patients see their best. Every patient’s needs are different, and I enjoy offering recommendations in a way patients can easily understand. As a team, we are committed to delivering superior eye care with integrity and compassion.”
Ryan is married to Dr. Young and together they enjoy spending time with their family including daughters Brooklyn, Ella, and London. Ryan also enjoys playing tennis, the occasional round of golf, and cheering for his Houston Texans and Houston Rockets.
